For service businesses

Local SEO: customers from your area

When someone looks for a service in their area, local SEO helps a business appear in Google Maps and Search. For service businesses whose customers start with a call, seopaslaugos.io runs local SEO as part of monthly SEO, on the business's own Google Business Profile and website.

Scope

What does local SEO include?

Local SEO covers six areas of work: the Google Business Profile, reviews, service and city pages, call and form tracking, visibility in Maps and local search, and AI answers.

  • 01

Google Business Profile set-up and optimisation.

Local SEO covers Google Business Profile (formerly Google My Business) optimisation and service areas. seopaslaugos.io fixes the profile in the first stage. Google's verification review takes up to 5 business days.

  • 02

    Reviews.

A business can ask for Google Business Profile reviews that represent a genuine experience. More reviews and positive ratings can help local ranking.

  • 03

    Service and city pages.

seopaslaugos.io writes service and city pages for keywords with buying intent such as "solicitor in Leeds". On the typical 180-day timeline, service pages go live by day 30. Ecommerce SEO rests on category and product pages rather than on Maps.

  • 04

    Call and form tracking.

seopaslaugos.io installs call, form and revenue tracking in the first stage. The phone and the form are always in view on the website. The business measures the result in calls, enquiries and booked jobs.

  • 05

Visibility in Maps and local search.

Google bases local results mainly on relevance, distance and popularity. From day 90, enquiries from Google Maps arrive regularly. In the no-retainer SEO model the seopaslaugos.io websites climb in organic search only, not in Maps.

  • 06

    Visibility in AI answers.

Visibility in AI answers covers citation-ready content, facts and brand mentions, so that ChatGPT and Google AI answers cite the business. seopaslaugos.io tracks AI visibility.

How does Google decide which businesses show on Google Maps?

Google bases local results mainly on three factors: relevance, distance and popularity. A business cannot request or pay Google for a better local ranking.

  • 01

    Relevance.

Relevance is how well a Business Profile matches what someone is searching for, so Google asks for complete and detailed business info.

  • 02

    Distance.

Distance is how far each business is from the customer who is searching. If a customer does not share where they are, Google uses what it knows about their location.

  • 03

    Popularity.

Popularity, which Google's help page also calls prominence, means how well-known a business is. Google judges prominence by how many websites link to the business and how many reviews it has. More reviews and positive ratings can help local ranking.

What these numbers actually show

03

From zero in 7 months

Two projects began from almost nothing. Seven months later: 191 and 669 clicks per month, with organic search the main source of enquiries in both.

Figures come from the Google Analytics 4 and Google Search Console reports clients receive every month. We do not publish client names. A potential enquiry is a phone click, email click, phone-number copy or form submission recorded in GA4. Note: GA4 fails to record some orders (cookie consent, not returning from the payment provider), so real revenue is usually higher than shown here.

How we work

How we work: local SEO over 180 days.

Four stages every project goes through. The tactics depend on your niche, your margins and how many jobs you can realistically take.

  1. 01

    Audit and niche analysis

    Day 1

A call about your business: average job or basket value, margin, capacity, cities or catalogue. Then search demand in your niche, competitor analysis and an audit of your current site.

Output: a plan and a recommendation on which model to choose.

  2. 02

    Foundations

    Days 1–30

We map out the full plan: keywords, page structure and order. We fix your current site and Google Business Profile: technical SEO, speed, indexing and whatever gets in the way of buying. We install tracking for calls, forms and sales. Then the first service or category pages go live. In the partnership model: we launch new websites in your niche.

Output: existing demand starts turning into enquiries.

  3. 03

    Growth

    Months 2–4

Content, links, AI visibility. We double down on what moves and cut what does not.

Output: first stable rankings and regular enquiries.

  4. 04

    Dominance

    Month 6+

New services, new cities, new categories, more websites in the niche. Once a month we review: how many enquiries or sales, what to expand.

Output: competitors notice only when you are already everywhere.

FAQ

Local SEO: FAQ

Get a proposal →
01

How much does local SEO cost?

Two factors set the cost of local SEO: the niche and the competition. For that reason seopaslaugos.io does not publish prices. seopaslaugos.io gives a concrete proposal, with no “from” pricing, after the first call. On the call seopaslaugos.io and the business cover average job value, margin, capacity and the cities served.

02

How long does local SEO take to bring enquiries?

Local SEO can bring the first enquiries within the first weeks. Google's verification review for a Business Profile takes up to 5 business days. On the typical 180-day timeline, service pages go live by day 30. From day 90, enquiries from Google Maps arrive regularly. Larger enquiry volumes build over 2–12 months, depending on competition.

03

Can a Google Business Profile name include extra information?

No, Google does not permit unnecessary information in a Google Business Profile name and could suspend the profile for it. Google also asks businesses to use as few categories as possible and not to use categories solely as keywords.

04

Should a business that travels to customers show its address on its Google Business Profile?

No, a service-area business that travels to customers should hide its address from customers on its Google Business Profile. The business lists service areas on the profile by city, postcode or other area, up to 20 in total. The overall service area should not extend farther than about 2 hours of driving time from where the business is based.

05

Can a business ask customers for reviews on its Google Business Profile?

Yes, a business can ask for Google Business Profile reviews that represent a genuine experience, as long as it offers no payment, discounts, free goods or services in return. Google bans selectively soliciting positive reviews, discouraging negative ones and pressuring customers to leave ratings while on the premises.

06

Which businesses is local SEO for?

Local SEO is for two types of business: those with a physical location customers can visit and those that travel to customers. Both types can have a Google Business Profile. A virtual office, where the business does not operate, is not eligible for a Business Profile. seopaslaugos.io runs local SEO as part of monthly SEO. seopaslaugos.io describes the full service under SEO for service businesses.

07

Is local SEO part of the no-retainer partnership?

No, seopaslaugos.io runs local SEO and Google Business Profile work in monthly SEO, on the business's own profile and website. In the partnership model the seopaslaugos.io websites climb in organic search only, not in Maps. seopaslaugos.io describes the terms under no-retainer SEO.
